A viral video of India cricketer Jitesh Sharma being seemingly denied entry at Lord’s caused a social media stir on Tuesday, prompting senior player and commentator Dinesh Karthik to step in and provide clarity.
The video showed Jitesh being stopped by a security guard, which many fans interpreted as a snub to the 온라인카지노 cricketer at the iconic venue. However, Karthik dismissed the speculation and explained the actual situation.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Karthik revealed that Jitesh was not trying to enter the main ground, but had arrived to meet him at the media center, a restricted zone at Lord’s.
“These are some issues with social media that a lot face. I invited Jitesh to the comm box, he had come, and I came and met him down and took him to the comm box and he met everyone there. BTW this is below the media center, not the entrance to the ground,” Karthik posted.
The clarification comes on the same day of Jitesh's move to the Baroda domestic team ahead of the upcoming 2025–26 domestic season. After several years with Vidarbha, where he led the side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and featured in the Vijay Hazare Trophy under Karun Nair’s captaincy, Jitesh’s switch to Baroda is expected to offer him more regular opportunities in both red-ball and white-ball formats.
Despite debuting in first-class cricket in the 2015–16 season, the 30-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has played just 18 FC games, often sidelined by the demands of white-ball cricket and franchise leagues. With Baroda, Jitesh is eyeing more consistent red-ball exposure while continuing to assert himself as a power-hitter in the shorter formats.
He was also one of the standout performers for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025, notching up several crucial knocks in the lower middle order. His unbeaten 85 against Lucknow Super Giants in a must-win clash helped RCB secure a top-two finish in the league stage. Later in the season, he captained the side in the absence of Rajat Patidar, who suffered a finger injury, showcasing leadership qualities alongside his batting prowess.
