The David Warner-led Thunder put 163 runs on the board, with Cameron Bancroft scoring an unbeaten 70 off 52 balls and Dwarshuis, Akeal Hosein claiming two wickets apiece for the Sixers. In reply, the Sixers began well but kept losing wickets at regular intervals, needing 15 off the final over. Dwarshuis eventually carried them home, staying not out at 20 off just eight balls alongside Jordan Silk (36 not out off 25 balls).
