WNBA: Sandy Brondello Backs Jonquel Jones To Be 'Difference-Maker' For New York Liberty

Jonquel Jones helped the New York Liberty defeat the 온라인카지노a Fever.

New York Liberty head coach Sandy Brandello said Jonquel Jones will make the “difference” for her side this season.

Jones, last season’s WNBA Finals MVP, played for the first time since June 19 in their 98-84 win over the 온라인카지노a Fever due to an ankle injury.

The center scored 18 points, shooting three for seven from beyond the arc, and also contributed with nine rebounds and two assists.

Prior to Jones’ injury, the Liberty were 9-1 in the WNBA this year, but they slumped to a 7-5 record without her.

Jones has averaged 12.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists this season, and Brondello believes she will be the difference maker for the Liberty.

“She’s so versatile,” said Brondello. “You have to scout her — inside, outside, it opens up the floor.

“It’s just the gravitational pull that she brings in. She can do everything for us at both ends of the floor. That’s why we didn’t play our best basketball when she was out.

“You add her back in, you just see the difference, how it helps us with our overall game.”

Jones added: “It felt great to be back out there.

“Obviously, it's been a while since I've been on the court, but my teammates have held it down while I was out, and everybody was excited for me to be back in. And I was just as excited.”

The Fever, meanwhile, were again without the injured Caitlin Clark, who has a groin problem.
