Kusal Mendis hit a fantastic century to take Sri Lanka to a good score after the hosts chose to bat first. Mendis slammed 124 with captain Charith Asalanka being the second highest scorer with a 58 and Sri Lanka gave a decent 286-run target to Bangladesh.
Asitha Fernando and Dushmantha Chameera then picked up three wickets each as Bangladesh batters could never pose a serious challenge. Only Towhid Hridoy hit a fifty as other Bangladesh batters failed and the visitors were bowled out for 186.
