Five Dead, Four Injured As Borewell Truck Plunges Into Ravine In Chhattisgarh

The vehicle was en route from neighboring Madhya Pradesh when it overturned after falling into the ravine.

A borewell drilling truck carrying nine workers fell into a small ravine in Chhattisgarh's Kabirdham district early Friday morning, killing five and injuring four others, police reported.

According to PTI, the tragic accident occurred in the wee hours near Chata village, falling under the Kukdur police station area. According to Kabirdham Additional Superintendent of Police Pushpendra Singh Baghel, the vehicle was en route from neighboring Madhya Pradesh when it overturned after falling into the ravine.

Preliminary information indicates that three of the occupants died at the scene. The remaining six were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two more succumbed to their injuries, bringing the total number of fatalities to five, reported PTI 

The four injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment. Authorities are working to ascertain the identities of the deceased.
