Tim Robinson could get used to being the matchwinner for his team after a career-best 75 not out propelled New Zealand to victory over South Africa.
Robinson's unbeaten knock helped New Zealand reach 173-5 in their innings on Wednesday, as they took on the Proteas in the Zimbabwe T20I tri-series.
Matt Henry (3-34) and Jacob Duffy (3-20) then dismantled South Africa for 152 as New Zealand sealed a 21-run win.
It was Robinson, though, who was named Player of the Match.
"It's a great feeling contributing to a win for your country and it's an addicting feeling and one that I hope to replicate later on," Robinson said.
"The Proteas bowling was exceptional.
"Their lengths and the use of the long side was really impressive and they bowled really well with the newer ball. It was hard to find momentum when we were continuing to lose wickets but as we got on and took it deeper and deeper, we could capitalise."
Robinson shared a decisive sixth-wicket partnership with debutant Bevon Jacobs (44 not out). The duo's unbeaten stand of 103 is the second-highest sixth-wicket partnership in T20Is, after the 105 put on by Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell against Sri Lanka in 2024.
"We tried to take it as deep as we possibly could and then run hard to the long side."
Next up for New Zealand are hosts Zimbabwe, and Robinson is wary of a different threat.
"Zimbabwe are going to pose a different challenge on Friday and we pride ourselves on trying to adapt as quick as we possibly can," he said.
