Record-breaking Root

Joe Root is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar in the list of highest run-scorers in Test cricket. He also achieved his 12th Test ton against India which helped him surpass Steve Smith as the batter with most red ball centuries against India. Root slammed 150 off 248 balls before Ravindra Jadeja had him stumped late on the third day.

India's pace worries

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj both struggled with fitness while Anshul Kamboj could barely touch 125 kmph as India's pace-bowling worries came to the fore in the fourth Test. Allrounder Shardul Thakur continued to leak runs and 온라인카지노 pacers looked totally out of touch in this Test.

Stokes puts body on line

Ben Stokes again showed that for the England Test team, he would cross every human limit. The English captain was retired hurt due to a cramp issue but he came out to bat again and helped his team increase the lead to close to 200. He struggled to run but still came out to bat towards the end of the day and finished unbeaten at 77.

Captaincy error?

India captain Shubman Gill did not bring last match's hero with the ball Washington Sundar into the attack for more than 60 overs even though other bowlers struggled. Once Sundar was introduced he quickly dismissed Ollie Pope and Harry Brook to prove why Gill was wrong.

“All around Old Trafford, everybody had been saying, ‘Where is Washington Sundar, why are we not seeing him?’ They were 300/2 and we hadn’t seen the off-spinner, he got four wickets in the first innings at Lord’s,” Broad said on JioHotstar during the lunch break.

Bumrah fitness under threat?

Jasprit Bumrah reportedly twisted his ankle while walking down the stairs when he was entering the ground. This led to him sitting out for a while and then not looking at his best when bowling. Is this another injury scare for a side already battling multiple injuries? There was no further update on this but Bumrah came out to bowl after this incident and even took a wicket of Jamie Smith.
