Former India fast bowler Dodda Ganesh has offered a vote of confidence in Prasidh Krishna ahead of the crucial second Test against England in Birmingham, urging the lanky pacer to make slight adjustments that could help him trouble the hosts’ batters more effectively.

Ganesh, speaking to PTI, acknowledged Prasidh’s potential as a strike bowler but stressed the need for greater consistency in his lines and lengths.
“Prasidh has always been a wicket-taker, but he needs to bowl with some consistency, and needs to focus on the areas he bowls. It will help him bowl more maidens especially when the ball gets older. He can’t bowl on both sides of the wickets,” Ganesh pointed out.
The former pacer emphasised the importance of mastering the off-stumpchannel in English conditions, drawing attention to how Jasprit Bumrah’s control sets the benchmark.
“In England, the ball swings around a bit because of the conditions. He just needs to watch Bumrah on how to bowl consistent lines, lengths. He just needs to concentrate more on the channel outside (off-stump), and he will be better,” Ganesh added.
With Bumrah likely to miss the Edgbaston Test due to workload management, Prasidh’s ability to shoulder greater responsibility will be key to India’s hopes of levelling the series.
The second Test starting on June 2 in Birmingham presents him with the perfect stage to implement these refinements and make a meaningful impact.
