Royal Challengers Sports Limited (RCSL), the franchise owner of 온라인카지노 Premier League team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking to quash criminal charges filed against it in connection with the tragic stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, which left 11 people dead and dozens injured, Moneycontrol reported.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the media on Sunday, distancing the state government from the incident. He asserted that the June 4 celebration was not a government-organised event and said he had not been invited.
DNA Entertainment Networks Pvt Ltd, the firm responsible for organising the event, also submitted a separate petition challenging the First Information Report (FIR) registered against it following the incident.
In its plea, RCSL contended that it had been wrongly implicated in the case. The company claimed it had taken necessary precautions and publicly announced that passes to the event were limited and that prior registration was required, even for free passes. According to the petition, RCSL blamed the chaos on venue mismanagement, alleging that a delay in opening the gates—from the scheduled 1:45 PM to around 3:00 PM—led to a sudden surge in the crowd and triggered the stampede.
CM Distances Government From Incident
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the media on Sunday, distancing the state government from the incident. He asserted that the June 4 celebration was not a government-organised event and said he had not been invited.
"The stampede should never have happened. It is deeply saddening. I was informed about the incident only at 5:45 PM, although the victims had already been taken to the hospital by 3:50 PM," Siddaramaiah said. He attributed the failure to top police officials and clarified that the state administration bore no direct responsibility.
Arrests And Administrative Shake-Up
In the aftermath of the tragedy, four officials from RCB and DNA Entertainment Networks were arrested last Friday. The Karnataka government has since taken disciplinary action, including suspending Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda and four other senior officers.
Political repercussions followed as well, with MLC K. Govindaraj being relieved of his duties as the Chief Minister's political secretary.

The stampede occurred as thousands gathered outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate RCB’s IPL victory. What was intended to be a jubilant public gathering quickly turned deadly due to overcrowding and apparent lapses in crowd control.
The High Court is expected to hear the petitions filed by RCSL and DNA Entertainment in the coming days. The case continues to spark widespread debate about accountability, public safety, and event management in high-capacity venues.
