ICJ’s verdict said, "Court finds that Pakistan deprived India of the right to communicate with and have access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, to visit him in detention and to arrange for his legal representation and thereby breached obligations incumbent upon it under Vienna Convention on Consular Relations,” India Today reported.
The Supreme Court had asked why other Pakistani citizens were not provided the right to appeal in regard to the May 9, 2023 riots after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former Prime Minister Imran Khan when Jadhav was. The Defence Minister informed that even Jadhav did not get to appeal since the verdict only mentioned consular access.
Who is Kulbhushan Jadhav?
Jadhav - a former 온라인카지노 Navy officer - was abducted and taken to Pakistan when running a business in Iran. He was allegedly arrested in March 2016 in Balochistan, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Mint reported.

Pakistan’s SC was told that the country’s laws were not in line with the Article 36 of Vienna Convention before the ICJ ruling - which protects the rights of foreigners arrested or detained in the host country and allows them consular access, visit and communication. The country’s laws were amended after the 2019 verdict.
