As nearly 50 schools across Delhi received bomb threat emails or calls, lashing out at the ruling BJP party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday morning alleged that the national capital was in a state of 'jungle raj' and accused the government of failing to protect children.

The consecutive bomb threats triggered widespread panic among students, parents, and school staff. This marked the fourth such instance within a week.

Taking cognisance of the development, AAP posted on X, "Schools in Delhi are continuously receiving threats of being blown up with bombs. This has created an atmosphere of panic throughout Delhi. But the four-engine BJP government and its Delhi police are unable to do anything. So far, they haven't even found a single clue. Has the BJP government kept intelligence agencies only to harass opposition leaders?"

Further commenting on the development, AAP Delhi convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj says, "Parents are facing extreme distress, they drop their children off at school and head to work, only to receive a call saying there's a bomb threat at the school and they need to pick up their kids immediately. This has created a constant state of panic among parents, and it's happening almost every day. The government is portraying itself as completely helpless, but this cannot continue. When it comes to fulfilling political interests, every agency works around the clock. But when it comes to public welfare, nothing is being done. Law and order situation is also getting deteriorated. We are witnessing 'Jungle Raj'."

Bharadwaj further stated that while the government is portraying itself as completely helpless in the situation, families are being traumatised over the recent developments.

"When it comes to fulfilling political interests, every agency works around the clock. But when it comes to public welfare, nothing is being done. We are witnessing 'jungle raj' in Delhi," he remarked.

Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, also slammed the BJP in a post on X, saying, "More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma that children, parents and teachers would be going through. BJP controls all four engines of governance in Delhi, and is yet not able to provide any safety or security to our children. Shocking." Earlier today, the Delhi Police and quick-response teams rushed to the affected schools and carried out evacuation and search operations.

Amid the repeated episodes of bomb scares throughout the week, the AAP has alleged that the BJP-led Centre has failed to devise an effective response strategy or assure public confidence.

"This isn't just a law and order issue, it's about the safety of our children. What will it take for the government to act seriously?" Bharadwaj questioned.

Bomb threats have been received by several schools including St Xavier's in Civil Lines, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, Abhinav Public School in Rohini and The Sovereign School in Rohini, received bomb threats. This marked the fourth consecutive day such threats were issued for schools across the national capital.

A statement released by the North Delhi police confirmed that bomb threats were received by IP College for Women, Hindu College, Sri Ram College of Commerce. All these colleges are located in the North Campus of Delhi University. "Standard drill is being followed. Campuses are being searched," the statement added.

Besides Delhi, 40 schools in Bengaluru also received bomb threats in a similar pattern. As per a report by India Today, private schools across various areas, including Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri, were among those targeted by the bomb threat messages. Bengaluru city police have deployed multiple teams across the schools for the alerts that were called in.
